Walhalla Farm - Training, Showing, Boarding and Sale of Quality Dressage Horses

About Us

We are a full service dressage training facility located in Aberdeen, NC.

Lynn Doki Camina is a Gran Prix rider and trainer, and a USDF Silver Medalist who truly adheres to the work ethic and style of German Dressage.  She has worked with Joe Sandven of Tantalus Farm for over 12 years. This has provided a consistency and long-term plan as the basis of her training.  This solid foundation and commitment has lent her to a steadiness and confidence in her riding that is unmistakable, and one that she is able to pass on to her students.
In addition to her work with Mr. Sandven, she has ridden in clinics with Alex Gerding, Gretchen Verbonic, Robert Dover, and others.

     Her current horses are:
Lynn Doki Doki's Weinbrand Dressage English German Southern Pines Aberdeen Pinehurst Moore COunty North Carolina Jay BirdLex Luthor, a 16 year old imported Holsteiner bought at PSG, currently training all the Grand Prix movements and competing I1.

Weinbrand, a coming 8 year old Rheinlander gelding who is coming back into work.  Prior to time off, he was working PSG and competing 2nd, with scores in the high 60's and was in the low 70's at the FEI 5 year old final test.  We anticipate him getting back into the competition arena this year at 4th level.

Lynn's newest acquisition is Sven, a 4th Level Swedish horse. He is a wonderful addition to Lynn's stable as he is a "hot" horse, a fantastic and powerful mover, and a hard worker. Lynn plans to begin to campaign him in the Spring of 2012.

The Farm

Dressage Covered Arena Olympic Size Southern PInes Aberdeen Pinehurst Moore County North Carolina Competition Training English German     One of the most visually distinct features of Walhalla farm is our covered arena, one of only two in the area. The steel covered was built two years ago to Olympic Dressage Competition dimensions and features Permaflex rubber footing, full lights (that allow for evening riding), a 5' high kick-wall, and a covered viewing deck. The arena now sports the latest technology in dust control, Magnesium Chloride! Due to its hygroscopic agents, it absorbs and retains moisture from the air, thus keeping dust in the arena down without the need for multiple weekly waterings. It is completely safe for horses, riders and the environment and has the added environmental bonus of saving thousands of gallons of water a year! Mirrors are next on our list.

Dressage Barn Board Boarding Blue Metal Amenities Southern PInes Aberdeen Pinehurst Moore County North Carolina Competition Training English German     The cerulean blue, metal barn has nine 12x12 rubber-matted stalls, a hot and cold wash rack, front-load washer and dryer, thermostat-controlled ceiling fans in all the stalls, a tack room, and a customized feed plan. We also have the barn professionally pressure-washed annually, both inside and out!

We have six beautiful, fully-fenced pastures; each is around one acre. There are three run-in sheds, one of which is the same deep blue as the barn. There is one "Stallion" field that includes a solar-powered hot wire.

It is with great sadness that we report the loss of Lex Luthor, a wonderful friend, fabulous personality, and patient teacher.  He worked in the morning, was not looking quite right in the afternoon, so we met with the vet, and took him to NC State where he died.  The post revealed a herniated diaphragm and subsequent bleed.  It was sudden and shocking, but at least did not cause him a protracted period of suffering.  We will all miss him deeply.
